After a very very long break, I'm back diving again.

In January 2014 we went to Cairns and Kirsty, Amelia and William all did PADI Open Water courses. I did a refresher with them, during their two days in the pool at ProDive Cairns, and then we were off to the Great Barrier Reef for 3 days and 2 nights aboard one of ProDive's boats. The ProDive Cairns instructors and crew were fantastic, and I would happily recommend them to anyone considering doing a SCUBA course.

I tagged along while the others completed their course, and spent lots of time playing with our new GoPro 3+ camera. I need to get a filter to cope with the colour absorption that occurs even a few metres down, but I have to say that I'm very impressed with the camera, and so were Amelia and William once they had finished their course and could also get their hands on it.

The stills on this page were taken with a GoPro Hero 3+, without a filter, and then adjusted using Photoshop to get closer to a correct colour balance.
