We have taken the time to research the options available and developed a hosting plan that offers lots of features and that doesn't cost the earth. Although primarily intended as a service to our clients, this hosting package is available to others as well. Please mote that this is a Web Hosting Service, not Internet Service Provision. It is a service for the provision of web space and hosting of a domain name, not a service that gives you dial-up access to the Internet. As an introductory offer, we offer half price hosting for your first year.
Your first year's web hosting with Internet Technology Services is just $100 (plus GST if applicable. Prices are in Australian Dollars). This offer on your first year's hosting is our way of thanking you for choosing to host with us. You do pay for extra disc space and bandwidth in excess of the standard inclusions - see below for more details.
Subsequent hosting is paid annually, in advance, at prices determined at the time your hosting is due for renewal. Currently the renewal cost is $200.00 per year plus GST.

If you need more than 1000 mb of space we charge $12.00 per month plus GST for each additional 500 mb block of space.
Up to 20 GB of bandwidth is free per month (this is data transferred from your site), beyond this the cost is $24.00 per 5 GB block, plus GST.
Your own domain name is used to host your website, allowing you to use your domain name as part of your corporate identity. Your own domain name is also generally easier to remember than your name tacked on to the end of your ISP's domain name (as well as being shorter!). Your domain name is essentially your global identity on the Internet, so securing the right domain name is very important. We can advise on how to go about securing the right domain name and can also make recommendation with regard to which Domain Name Registrar to use.
You can create as many POP3 email accounts as you need. POP3 email accounts are checked using the most commonly used email clients such as Eudora and Outlook Express. Staff can use personalised email addresses (such as you@yourbusiness.net) which are easy to remember and help identify them as part of your organisation. As part of our anti-spamming policy, emails can be sent to no more than 10 recipients at a time.
If you would like to use email addresses at your domain name, but want them to be forwarded elsewhere (to the email address you use through your ISP for example) you can use our Email Forwarding option. Email sent to a particular address for your domain can be automatically forwarded to one or more recipients elsewhere.
You can create an autoresponder for each email address at your domain. When an email is sent to an address that has an autoresponder activated the mail server automatically replies with a message to let the sender know the message has been received by the mail server. You could use this to let people know that you are on leave for a while, or you could create special email addresses that can be used to email information about forthcoming conferences, meetings and so on.
Our mail server offers a web based email option, so you can check or send email through any Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, from anywhere that there is a web connection. Check your email at work, while on holidays, at a library, from a friend's home - anywhere that you can use a Browser connected to the Internet.
Our web-based control panels can be used to set up email accounts, view statistics, order domain name pointers or subdomains and more. We provide a control panel specifically for setting up your email accounts and managing email forwarding, autoresponders, and email passwords.
We provide detailed statistics for your site including referrers, hits, sessions, bandwidth and more. All of this is available via a link on our Web-based Control Panel.
Any time you wish to modify your site via FTP it is simply a matter of logging on and uploading your files to the live server. You can use FTP clients such as WS-FTP, CUTE FTP, CoffeeCup Direct FTP, FETCH and so on, or you can make use of the FTP capabilities built in to web development applications such as DreamWeaver.
Many interactive services used by web pages require the use of cgi scripts. These scripts accept commands from forms and other inputs from a web page and pass the instructions to other files on the webserver, which in turn send the appropriate web page back to the browser. Often these scripts need to be customised to meet the needs of a website, but many web hosts do not allow access to the cgi-bin directory, where the scripts must be located. Our hosting arrangements do allow you to use the cgi-bin directory, and to add files and create new directories within it.
We provide a pre-installed form mail script which allows your visitors to send email to you from within your website. We also provide a pre-installed counter which you can place on any of your pages to count the number of hits that page has received. The website statistics package will give you more detailed information, but this at least gives you a simple way of keeping an eye on progress.
Sendmail is supported on our Linux servers. It allows you to send email from your site to your visitors, and is commonly used as a way of giving feedback to a visitor to your site once they have filled in a form.
Perl 5 is supported on our Linux Servers. This enables you to run most CGI/Perl scripts written for the UNIX/Linux platform.
Every account receives access to a directory on our secure server. This is on an NT4 machine and allows clients to use secure forms for use with payments and so on.
Hosting is on a RedHat Linux Server. This is known to be one of the most stable platforms available for serving websites. It is recommended for sites with mostly HTML pages. It natively supports CGI/Perl, and the ability to use Server Side Includes makes it one of the most easily used and versatile web hosting platforms. RedHat Linux Servers are also regarded as one of the more secure webservers available, reducing the possibility of your site being hacked.
Our Linux Servers support MySQL databases. Each domain is allowed one MySQL database. This is set up in the control panel and there is also a web based interface to administer your MySQL server. Our RedHat Linux Servers support PHP4, if you have developed a web site that requires it.
We offer free technical support with our hosting plan. Simply email support@batchelors.net with any queries you may have and we will be happy to answer them. The first point of call for all support questions however should be here, if your question has been asked previously it is most likely answered at this site.
In response to requests from some of our education clients, we have increased the standard amount of space available as part of our hosting arrangement to 1000 mb of disk space! If you need more than 1000 mb of space we charge $12.00 per month plus GST for each additional 500 mb block of space.
Each account receives 20GB of bandwidth at no extra cost. Bandwidth counted is the amount of data transferred from your site to your visitors. This is equivalent to approx. 800 visitors a day to your site (depending on the size of graphics or downloadable files and so on). Beyond this the cost is $24.00 per 5 GB block, plus GST if applicable. Most sites do not get anywhere near 20GB per month.
