CD-ROM development and duplication

CDWe have worked on CD-ROM development since 1996, specialising in discs for conferences and the education sector.

We work closely with our clients to ensure that the finished product meets all of their requirements. Our discs can be used in PCs and Macintosh computers, and are designed to automatically launch when inserted in the CD drive.

robot disc printerMany of our clients commission us to develop a disc and then ask us to duplicate the disc on a just in time basis - production runs of between 10 and 100 discs at a time are common - reducing the chance of the disc contents being out of date before all of the discs are distributed or sold. For small runs we now use an all-in-one disc printing system that prints full-color, 4800 dpi images directly onto the surface of CD-ROMs.

Duplication costs vary based on numbers. Small runs of up to 50 discs currently cost $5.50 including GST. Large duplication runs can bring the cost per disc down to less than $1.00. Phone us on 03 9012 3381 or email peter@batchelors.net to discuss your development and duplication needs.

Name Tag and Business Card CD-ROMs

A selection of CD cards recently developed by Internet Technology ServicesThese small CD-ROMs can hold up to 52MB of information (the equivalent of 36 floppy disks). Roughly the size of a conventional business card, these discs fit into the central indentation of tray loading CD drives - the most common type of CD drive currently used in computers. Our discs will work in Macintosh and PC computers.

They are an impressive alternative to business cards, and are increasingly being used as name tags at conferences, as they can also include an electronic copy of the conference proceedings.

They can be used to distribute copies of PowerPoint presentations and websites, and other documentation that would normally be distributed on paper.

These discs are a cost-effective alternative for conference organisers to consider. Advertisers and sponsors can also be promoted on the disc, which, because of the novelty value, is likely to be frequently used and shown to others. This novelty value is also useful when you want to ensure that material presented at a conference or professional development session is frequently referred to.

Anything that you can store on your computer can be added to a CD-ROM of this type.

A good starting point for content to include on these discs will be your website. It is often possible to include a copy of the static sections of a website with very little need to edit any of the pages and links.

Our discs are packaged in plastic sleeves. When the disc is being used as a name tag, a pin/clip combination is placed on the back of the sleeve.

For small runs, and when the disc is being used as a name tag for conferences, we print the artwork on shaped adhesive labels. For larger runs of discs (over 1000 discs), when individual's names are not required, the artwork is screenprinted directly onto the disc.

What do they cost?

Prices for business cards range from $5.30 for very small runs, to less than $3.00 for very large runs.

Name tags start at $5.55 for small runs, and can cost as little as $4.00 for larger quantities.

Costs for developing artwork and content for the disc are not included. We would be delighted to quote on the development of content or presentations for your disc.
